Theatre Space, Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities,
The inaugural session of the Oxford Postgraduate Storytelling Series, In Conversation with the Vice-Chancellor: Leadership, Belonging, and Opportunity at Oxford, will take place at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, bringing together postgraduate students alongside senior college and University leaders, academics, and faculty members.
The session will feature the Vice-Chancellor reflecting on her journey at Oxford, from arriving as a first-generation student from a working-class background, through her academic career and service as Warden of Merton College, to her current role as Vice-Chancellor of the University. Her reflections will set the tone for the series, illustrating how leadership, opportunity, and belonging can evolve over time within the Oxford community.
Following this opening conversation, the event will move into the standard format of the series, with two selected postgraduate students sharing personal stories aligned with the theme of leadership, belonging, and opportunity. The event will conclude with an interactive audience Q&A, encouraging open dialogue and shared reflection.
Supported by the Humanities Division, TORCH, and the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, the series provides a dedicated home for these conversations. This event is not simply a talk, but part of a wider commitment to ensuring postgraduate journeys are heard, valued, and celebrated at Oxford.
