Accessibility in Sport – Wheelchair Basketball
Location: Acer Nethercott Hall, Iffley Sports Centre
Date and time: 1 June, 4-6.30PM
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to dribble and hoop a ball in a wheelchair? It’s much harder than you think, but also much more rewarding when you score! As part of our Accessibility in Sport form to gather the opinions of students and staff on Accessibility in Sports at Oxford University, we are holding an event in collaboration with the Oxford University Wheelchair Basketball Club to give you the opportunity to have a go at this sport!! There will be refreshments provided at the end.
As part of this event, the SU Sports Officer is asking for student feedback on the accessibility of Oxford University Sports, to be shared with the Sports Federation, please see here for the short form (all students are able to complete this anonymous form).
Accessibility
There are ramps leading to the Acer Nethercott Hall from the entrance of the Iffley Sports Centre. Free parking for up to 4 hours is available at the Sports Centre, registration of the vehicle plate number at the counter is required. If you have any issues getting to the sports centre, please get in touch at susportsofficer@oxfordsu.ox.ac.uk and we will see what transport provisions we can provide for you.
Note
Photos might be taken at the event. If you are uncomfortable with photography, please let us know in advance or on the event day itself.
